Spring Busy

Camping season has begun!  We had our fist official camping trip mothers day weekend.  We went to a small little campground closer to home and that is where we kayak.  The kids really enjoy kayaking and so do I!

And this trip was the first for our old neighbors to go!  The girls loved having their friend there...not the snake! :)
And I finally went mushroom hunting.  I have never gone before so this was lucky that I found one.  I am also lucky I did NOT find poison ivy.  I felt the brush was just coming up that I was safe and would take the chance to hunt.
The girls got the "most improved" award at swim...a tie!  I do agree they improved a TON!  Trophies are to come because they are stuck on a shipping container somewhere.
And just as swim wrapped up, the girls tried soccer.  Josie really liked soccer, Ella too but not as much as Josie.
Lets talk about this pool situation for minute.  All is fun and games until we get a 17 inch hole at the bottom of the pool and you just stand around and watch 22,000 gallons of water go into the back yard/creek.  Long story short, it was a snowball effect of all of us that ended with a hole.  It sucked, lots of yelling, some quick thinking to save the sand underneath and some tears.
I had been in the pool one time before the pool got a hole in it.  I had taken roughly 5 steps into it and Josie states there is water gushing in the back yard.  Here is the second time I am in it.  I am checking out the "fix job" and trying to see what I need to do.  My friend came to help and obviously had a pool party!
But we are not back in business and really enjoying the pool!  We are awaiting our water bill.....
Seriously though, so far it has been very enjoyable to have!  I see lots of memories being made at this pool!
Eli finally getting to be able to play with his birthday present from Uncle Randy and Aunt Val.  He loves it, but loves spraying everyone the most.

And now we are trying softball.  The only reason they are playing is because the games are NOT on the weekends.  Let me tell you about the exciting games we get to watch (later).  So far they are ok with playing.
Found these at Aldi and they are SO GOOD!!  I have since bought more and prolly shouldn't have! My waist is not going to like these.
And the end of school year is here and school is out for summer!
Ella~ first day and last day of 3rd grade
Eli~ first day and last day of 3rd Kindergarten
Josie~ first day and last day of 3rd grade
And Joey graduated from Ottumwa Leadership Academy as well.  He learned a lot about this community and his project went well.  Congrats to Joey!
I was able to see the play Hamilton and had such a great time.  Joey took the kids camping by himself so I could go!  I super appreciate that and enjoyed visiting with my DM friends!
Moving had us enjoying some of the toys we "found" or forgot about.  The giant bubbles have been a big hit!
Summer haircuts all around!  Ella's is the biggest change and it is growing on me.  She was a little nervous to go short, but loves it!
We had a fundraiser for the kids school, breakfast in the park.  It didn't go as well as I wanted but it wasn't a complete wash.  Hopefully better turn out next year.

We also participated in the schools golf outing.  We came in first in first flight, whatever that means.  But we won a ride on a firetruck.  The fire fighters will pick them up at our house in the fire truck and drive around with them.  Most of the time people do a ride to school.  The kids will LOVE this!  Pictures to come when this happens in the fall!
We finally were able to get the boat out and enjoy a night ride!  Beautiful night!
Whew! That's it! Yeah right...That is quite a lot going on.  Since moving I am not sure we have slowed down at all and Eli can't keep up! ;)
Busy Busy Busy!
