34

Wow!  Another year older :(  I'd like to say I am older and wiser, but I think only the first is true.  I celebrated with friends on Thursday night and then Joey and I were able to "get away" together and go have dinner on Friday.  It was a very nice July night, rather cool for July, so we were able to sit out on a patio and enjoy each others company.  Joey got me a framed picture of the girls for my office and a new cell phone for my birthday.

I finally put make-up on and did my hair

I told the babysitter we would be home between 11pm and 12pm.  I wasn't sure if I would even make it out that late since my normal bedtime is 9pm!  Well what do ya know I made it until 12!!  And then Josie got up at 7am, ugh! Not use to having to get up to an infant after a night out!  Hopefully I will be able to catch a "birthday nap" today!!

My very pretty flowers that my friend Ashley spoiled me with!  So pretty!!  :)

I feel very blessed that I could celebrate with friends AND Joey!  We are able to pay for a babysitter, have a babysitter I can trust and have many friends willing to hang out!  Thanks everyone for all my birthday fun!

7 months

Since I wasn't the happiest with how the girls 6 month pictures turned out, I got a few more.  These are "technically" 7 month pictures even though they are only 2 weeks after their 6 month.  I am much happier with these!

Infectious

If these videos don't make you smile than there is something wrong with you because I think they are quite infectious!

JD golf

This weekend was the John Deere Club golf outing.  We have known about this for quite sometime and Joey and I talked that we both wanted to play in it.  So that meant...a babysitter!!  Good thing I work at the high school in town cause I can find babysitters easier!  I planned all the details of the babysitter and she cam that morning and off we went to play golf.  I was very confident in our babysitter, but it still doesn't make it easier to leave your babies.  I called to check in a few times, which she prolly thinks I'm crazy, oh well!  We got home a little before 4pm and their day went better than my golf game :/

We had some friends come in for the golf tourney and then they stayed at our house.  Well so many people wanted to see them we actually had a house full.  We grilled some shiska bobs (I know that is spelled wrong) and enjoyed visiting with everyone.  The Richardsons took off on Sunday morning and just the 4 of us hung out on Sunday, except I woke up feeling like I was getting a cold.  Who gets a cold in July????!!!

Morrison Family

I joke that my "photography business" should be called "At Least One Good Shot," because I'm not very good, but I should be able to get one good shot"  Well, I took some maternity/family pictures of the Morrison family the other day and I think we got more than "one good shot."  The boys were good and Makayla is so photogenic, that made things easy.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Love this one!

Josie and Ella - 6 months

The girls at 6 months have been really fun!  They are just so much more aware and have many more expressions and are just plain fun!  They interact with each other more and more and occasionally I hear them cooing at each other.  Here are the stats:

Josie Marie:

Weight: 14lbs (10th percentile)
Length: 24 1/2 inches (10th percentile)
Head: 17 1/4 (75th percentile)

Josie Marie (aka Ham Bone because she is such a ham) has started solids.  She is doing great with that but hasn't had enough variety to really have a favorite.  She sleeps about 11-12hrs at night.  When I go up to get her she is all smiles and kicks.  She rolls over, but not a lot.  She LOVES LOVES LOVES attention!!!!  She giggles and laughs and smiles at just about anything you say to her as long as it's in a high pitched voice and it's not a camera ;).  She has 2 teeth in (her bottom 2) and is working on a bunch more, with the amount of drool coming out she may just have a mouth full soon.

Ella Mae:

WeightL 12lbs 5oz (3rd percentile)
Length:  23 3/4 (3rd percentile)
Head:  16 1/2 (25-50th percentile)

Ella has really come out in the last month or so.  She is much more smiley and has more reaction to you when you talk to her.  She doesn't require as much attention as her sister, but she is still very fun!  She got her casts off and braces put on.  She is a rolling machine!!  She is everywhere now.  We have to "separate" the girls so Ella doesn't hit Josie with her braces (which has happened).  She has 2 teeth (bottom) as well and wants to chew on EVERYTHING!  I think she is anxious to sit and my prediction is she will be first.  She doesn't want anything to do with solids at this point and really just wants to chew on the spoon.  We will try each week until she is ready.  She is sleeping 11-12hrs, although sometimes wakes up because her brace is caught in the crib.

I did their 6 month photos and finally just gave up.  This is what you get.  It is absolutely impossible to get both girls to look at the camera and smile AT THE SAME TIME.  I even had to recruit dad for some help.  So there are no good pictures of both girls or of the family.  I even tried to do a family picture with the tripod!  HA!  I laugh, like I would be lucky to get a good one.

Josie and Ella, we love you very much and have so much fun with you each day!  You girls are growing so fast and can't believe you are half way to your 1st birthday!

Not slowing down

And she's off....

She's been a rolling over machine ever since.
