Carving

We carved pumpkins for the first time with the girls this year. It's messy, hard and quite frankly Joey and I never wanted to mess with it, but this year John Deere had a carving event at the factory so I thought I wouldn't have much cleanup and girls would enjoy it. Well it turns out we had to have the pumpkins emptied before we arrived. So much for no clean up. The neighbor boys, Grant and Micah and their cousins came down to empty out their pumpkins as well.

We're getting all "the guts" out
Josie dug right in! Both arms and all!

Ella took a little convincing but finally stuck her hand in

Checking out the inside of a pumpkin

The next night we headed to Deere for the final carving and dinner after.
All the carving stuff was there, plus stickers paint and anything else needed to carve/decorate a pumpkin.
We finished with dinner and juice, which Ella immediately after eating threw up on the floor while others were still eating  :(

We came home and lit the bat and owl. The girls had a good time and we will definitely carve pumkins again!

Pregnancy post

So I haven't really talked much about my pregnancy, other than announcing, until now.  I am currently 18 weeks (due March 16th)  and want to recap so far.  This pregnancy has been so different from the girls.  I have not been feeling the best, however, could have been much worse than what I was
Here is the run down of things of the pregnancy so far...

Finding out and telling Daddy:  By the time I actually took a pregnancy test I was 90% sure I was pregnant.  When I told Joey about the girls, I just told him, nothing special.  I wanted to do something different this time...more special.  So I decided before I had taken the test, BIG SISTER shirts on the girls is how I would tell dad.  I went to every store in Ottumwa and didn't find one.  So Amazon it was, I just had to wait a day for shipping.  So the shirts came and I had the girls in their shirts when Daddy got home from work.  We went all evening, thru dinner, bath and even getting PJ's on and he STILL didn't notice.  SERIOUSLY?!!!!  I almost just blurted it out.  So on to the next day, the girls were in the shirts again when dad got home from work and this time it took about 15 minutes and he FINALLY NOTICED, FINALLY!!! :)

Early pregnancy:  I was COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED!!  It was the worst.  I had no energy at all, no motivation and had 2 girls home with me for the rest of the summer.  I made it to the Y to work out and I only could do yoga.  I never do yoga.  I did not have morning sickness, but was too tired to have any.  I gained about 6lbs between  weeks 6 and 8 and had MAJOR food aversions.  I didn't not want to eat any meat, chicken or beef.  I didn't have anything prepared for dinner because nothing sounded good.  I have also been pretty hormonal as in angry.  I am not really sure why.  I also felt it move really early, at 16 weeks.  Now it's moving all the time!

Ultrasound:  We had another early ultrasound and about a week before I had a FEAR that there was more than one baby.  A friend said "God will not give you more than you can handle" and I went home and told God that's awesome if he would think I could handle twins again, but please don't test me.  I don't want to find out just what I can handle.  There's only 1 baby.  Whew!

With in the last 2 weeks I have started feeling quite a bit better and not as tired as what I have been.  I'm still tired, because I am still a mom :)  I would say I am finally getting pretty excited now that I am about half way done with this pregnancy.  I will be a repeat C-section so it will come earlier than March 16th.  We are planning to have it here in Ottumwa and hope everything goes smoothly for us.

And then this..

No we are not having a boy and a girl!  We are having a BOY!  His name will not be Mickey though.  Joey really wanted to find out what we were having and I didn't.  I was ready for a surprise at the end, however, I have been such a peach for Joey so far,  I let him have his way.  Besides, I already knew I was having a boy because this pregnancy was so different and moms always knows!

Autumn acres

We made it to autum acres again this year. What a fun time it was with the girls, they had a blast!
We went last year and as I looked back I realized they had a good time last year the too!  They did more things by themselves this year!  Here are a few pictures of our gorgeous day at autumn acres!

Fall is here

Fall is officially here. Boating season has come to and end, but I am not too sad about it.  Don't get me wrong, I love summer , sun and the boating but I was ready for some fall fun this year.

Our last official swimming suit, grill out on the beach of our first season.

Which means fall is in full swing with decorations and pumpkin spice everything.

Fall also means spirit week for homecoming at work. Josie and I on flannel day

We even have our pumpkins purchased and on the porch

Since I was in such a fall mood this year I bought these cute little Halloween bags for the girls and even bought one for baby #3 :)

We made our appearance at the annual Oktoberfest parade. The girls loved it--well more like all the candy they got!

I think I'm pumped up for fall this year because it is the start of the holidays.  Now that the kids get into it and get excited about new things (like parades), it makes it fun!  Family and fun--who wouldn't like like that?
